Great place to start your travels and an incredible atmosphere. I would recommend Xamanek to any traveler. Thank you so much for making me feel at home".

"I stayed here the first days of my trip. As the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming I decided to stay here also on my last night. It was like coming back home. The staff is friendly (very) and the hostel very clean and feels safe. I wish Xamanek all the best, hope the hostel will be busy and keep its great atmosphere."

"Oh, and this is REALLY important. Free panqueques (pancakes) and coffee in the morning. Loads of hot water, and I never saw a bug inside the hostel. And…the bird sounds outside the hostel are just rockin! So nice to wake up to after a long flight."

Xaman-Ek, the Mayan God of the North Star

Xamawho?

Say "Shamanek"

(From www.godchecker.com)
Also known as AH-CHICUMEK, AH-CHICUM-EK, KUH, CHUEN, XAMEN-EK, GOD-C

XAMAN-EK: God of the North with a black monkey head. You may think there is worse to come - but no, he is all peace and benevolence. In fact he's a God of Holiness and Godliness. A real God's God.

His symbol is the North Star, used for guidance and direction, so he's the one to call upon if you get lost. He's also known as God C. C is for Copal Trees. His only indulgence, if you are offering, is incense from the resin of the copal tree.
